Innovation Case Studies

Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine is a relatively new sub-speciality recognised by the General Medical Council in the UK. Innovations in pre-hospital care are still regularly transforming both interventions and concepts; and internationally, many different systems deliver pre-hospital care to patients in a wide variety of ways.

In the UK, London’s Air Ambulance has been extensively involved in the evolution of the doctor-paramedic model of care, particularly but not exclusively in treatment of injury.

The case studies in this section highlight some of our key innovations in the practice of pre-hospital care.
