2018-2019 Cohort of the iBSc in Pre-Hospital Medicine

The 5th Cohort of the iBSc in Pre-Hospital Medicine starts the course with excitement and trepidation.

The course is filled with exciting opportunities to immerse themselves in the world of pre-hospital care and to learn from the best clinicians in the field.

The often adverse weather conditions and early starts for their complex scenario training truly reflect what trauma doctors and paramedics face on scene in real-life situations everyday.

An eagerness to learn and a general 'can do' attitude is shared by all members of the group which helps in the many problem solving situations they face.

Off-site training days bring an added dimension to the group's already extensive learning. The Institute of Pre-Hospital Care and Queen Mary University of London is honoured to work closely with the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and the RNLI on the iBSc in Pre-Hospital Care and thank them for their continued involvement, time and effort in teaching our students.

After a year filled with both highs and lows, the students finish their final exams and hand in their dissertations. A great sense of achievement, and relief, is felt all round but what is certain, is that it was a brilliant year and life-long friends were made within the group.
