Reader in Medical Education, and Academic Lead for Pre-Hospital Medical Education at Barts and The London School of Medicine
A fully qualified educationalist since 1979, Dr Goodsman has both a first degree and PhD in education; she also has a Masters in Innovation, Creativity and Leadership. She has worked as a teacher and lecturer in all sectors from schools through to universities - specifically in the field of medical education since the early 1990s and pre-hospital medicine since 2007. Her main areas of responsibility are for Pre-Hospital Medical Education, Faculty Development and Curriculum Innovation.
As the academic lead for Pre-Hospital Medical Education, she oversees the medical school’s pre-hospital work including the Pre-Hospital Care Programme (PCP), run in collaboration with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, and the Intercalated BSc in Pre-Hospital Medicine. The latter she co-directs with the Head of the Institute of Pre-Hospital Care, London’s Air Ambulance. Both these programmes are the first of their kind in the field. She is also a member of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care at the College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and recently has been awarded a Principal Fellowship with the HEA.
