Practical Lead - iBSc in Pre-Hospital Medicine
Bill has been heavily involved with The Institute of Pre-Hospital Care since its inception in 2013. Bill is a specialist paramedic and works alongside our doctors on the Physician Response Unit (PRU) that responds to medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrests. This service operates in the area around The Royal London Hospital, including the City and East London. The PRU team can provide advanced medical care to critically ill Londoners, reducing pressure on the London Ambulance Service and the Emergency Department.
Over the years, aside from his clinical role, Bill has provided invaluable support to The Institute team and those we teach, especially our iBSc students. He has been the Practical's Lead on the iBSc for the past 4 years, this role is integral to the course as not only does it translate the taught materials into practical hands on scenarios reading the cohorts for the real pre-hospital world but also spans all three of the modules. Bill is always on hand to give advice, share his experience and to give the all important paramedic perspective. We greatly value everything Bill does for The Institute and how he always keeps the patient at the heart of everything he does.
